According to the Great Falls Tribune, a 33-year-old Billings man was killed in a car accident involving three cars Monday near Laurel. The car crash occurred at around 12:30 p.m.
The man killed in the car accident was driving a Mercedes van southbound on U.S. Highway 310 when the car crossed into the continuous left turn lane and went into northbound oncoming traffic, where it struck a Mercedes SUV on its driver’s side and continued to travel southbound until it struck a Toyota Tundra head-on. The van and the Toyota came to rest still stuck together, blocking a lane of traffic.
The van’s driver died at St. Vincent Healthcare. He was not wearing a seatbelt.The SUV driver, a 47-year-old female from Joliet, and the Toyota driver, a 62-year-old male from Wyoming, were both injured and taken to area hospitals.The Montana Highway Patrol is still investigating whether drugs, alcohol or speed were involved in the car accident.This was the 128th highway death in Montana this year.
